Beginning therapy is a courageous decision. Whether you're feeling overwhelmed, anxious, emotionally exhausted, struggling in your relationships, or simply feeling stuck, reaching out for support can feel intimidating. My goal is to provide a warm, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where you feel heard, understood, and empowered.

Together, we will work to better understand the challenges you are facing while building practical skills and meaningful insight that help you create lasting change. Therapy is a collaborative process, and I believe everyone has the capacity for growth, resilience, and healing. You do not have to navigate life's challenges alone. Whether you're seeking support for yourself, your relationship, or your family, I would be honored to walk the path to inner growth and contentment with you.

I am a graduate of The University of Wisconsin–Madison with a Bachelor's of Arts Degree in Political Science and earned my Master's of Social Work Degree from Loyola University.
I began my career as a School Social Worker at the JCB Therapeutic Day School in Chicago. Most recently, I spent over 20 years at Neuropsychiatric Associates in Vernon Hills, where I treated adolescents, adults, and couples.
I am now excited to be embarking on a new professional chapter with my own private practice, KJL For Life, Inc. I would be honored to support you in working toward your therapy goals.
Therapy with me is collaborative, compassionate, and practical. My eclectic therapeutic approach integrates techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Client-Centered Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Strengths-Based Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.
My goal is to support meaningful change while honoring each client's unique strengths, needs, and life circumstances. My approach is warm, active, collaborative, and solution-focused. Every individual is unique, which is why I tailor therapy to meet your specific needs rather than relying on a single treatment model. We all encounter roadblocks in life — some are unexpected and beyond our control, while others may develop from patterns, beliefs, or behaviors that unknowingly keep us feeling stuck. Together, we will work to understand what may be getting in the way and why, while developing practical strategies to move forward. For challenges that cannot be changed, I help clients find healthier and more manageable ways to navigate them through boundary setting, assertiveness training, improved communication, emotional regulation, and effective coping skills.
